Sitka Deer Hunts General Itinerary
Most Hunters will fly from Anchorage on Alaska Airlines to connect with us in Kodiak. On day one of your Sitka deer hunt, we will depart from the Kodiak Harbor in our 50-foot Catamaran the Double Down and head out to the bay that has been previously decided on. The Double Down will be your comfortable lodging for the next week. You determine the location where you would like us to transport choosing from the variety of bays in the area. Once we reach the chosen area, we provide a filling lunch, get loaded up and you can head out hunting that same day, if that’s what you wish. It’s your hunt and you decide the general itinerary. Dinner is served back on the boat that evening.
Hunting Schedule
Each day you are served breakfast and packed a lunch, then you can head out hunting at your leisure. You can radio back to the vessel whenever you are ready to be picked up from land to be transported back to the boat. Dinner is served each evening.
Field Dressing
When you take down an animal, you can radio back to be picked up. You gut your animal on land and then pack it out to the beach where we’ll meet. You will be picked up and transported back to the boat. You will finish dressing your deer meat on the boat. Licensing does not allow us to help with your Sitka deer hunt in any way, including guiding, giving advice or helping with packing or prepping of your harvest.
Other Things to Do
As a bonus during your Sitka deer hunt, you can go duck hunting any day you would like as long as you have the proper license for that. We can also go bottom fishing and we will have all of the saltwater fishing gear on board that will be needed. You can hunt for deer until you are done or until your time is over. We head back to Kodiak Harbor on day 7 early in the morning. Weather is always watched to ensure a safe return. We will adjust travel times if it becomes necessary for safety.
