On one of our recent Homer overnight charters on 6/24/23-6/25/23, the crew from Fish Alaska magazine joined us. The big halibut of the trip measured 70 inches, which puts it in the range of 180 pounds. Big fish like this demand high quality gear to land them and the crew from the Double Down to work together as a team to harpoon, shoot and gaff the powerful flatfish. A great trip was enjoyed by the 11 anglers on board, and many nice fish were landed.
