Smokin Joe’s Lodge is now the new and improved Big Dan’s Riverfront Lodge! Now under the new ownership of Dan and Sarah Spies, you’ll see tons of renovations and improvements. The lodge sits two miles conveniently from the center of Soldotna, Alaska on the famous Kenai River with excellent salmon fishing access right in front of the lodge, plus they have a full service charter company for ocean fishing.
Big Dan’s Riverfront Lodge is a one-stop shop for fishing and lodging on the Kenai Peninsula, located right in the heart of town near grocery stores, restaurants and other attractions.
Guests are encouraged to use all of the lodge’s amenities including the aforementioned access to excellent private riverfront fishing, rods/reels and nets, cleaning station, charcoal BBQ grills, freezers to store fish, and the spacious deck and fire pit that overlooks the Kenai River.
Among the many improvements to the property the new owners, Sarah and Dan, have implemented since taking over include new decks, new exterior and interior paint, new linens and bedding, a water filtration system, 50-inch smart TVs with cable television, and upgraded cleaning stations, and freezers. Plus they’ve taken it upon themselves to have gear for guests like hip waders, fillet knives, and nets. And now vacuum packing is available to purchase.
